Phloxy Lady

Phloxy Lady

Annual Phlox, Summer Phlox

(Phlox drumondii 'Phloxy Lady')

Looking for a blooming ground cover try Phloxy Lady.  Phloxy Lady grows and spreads into a thick carpet of colour.

It is available in eight colours, Hot Pink, Purple, Purple Sky, Pink, Cherry Red, Strawberry, White and the newest, Denim Blue.

Surprisingly, it also works great in baskets and containers as well. Phloxy Lady is best planted in late spring or early summer. In the garden, Phloxy Lady is heat and drought tolerant, therefore it is an ideal choice for most landscapers.

Zone: Treat as Annual
Height: (10-12")
Spread: (6-10")
Habit: Upright
Exposure: Full Sun
Moisture: Just Moist, Never Wet

The huge number of 2.5CM (one inch) flowers tend to attract Butterflies and Hummingbirds.

Phloxy Lady is covered in stunning star-shaped flowers with yellow eyes at the ends of the stems from mid
spring to early fall. It's small narrow leaves remain green in colour throughout the season, and it fits into any Rock Garden or Alpine Garden extremely well.

What I like is the fact it is not particular as to soil type, but has a definite preference for alkaline soils. Yep, that rotten soil we have in the Regina Area.

It is also highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive,

--- in super hot inner city environments!
